LI'L HALF-TON RASPBERRY PORTER

This beer was named for Mingus, aka L'il Half-Ton. He was Ben's dog when the five of us lived at the 505 Shitshack. Altho he was technically Ben's dog, Mingus received nothing but unconditional love from the rest of us. We all cried when we had to give him away. I think that red thing at the bottom of the photo is his schlong.

approx. 6.5# pale malt extract

2# 1.8L pale malt

approx. 1.5# 50-60L crystal malt

approx 3/4# chocolate malt

2 oz Centennial pellets

2 oz Cascade pellets

3# fresh red raspberries, frozen.

We were poorly organized on this one. We has 3 different pots steeping/mashing grains, so we can't really give you an accurate schedule. We also guesstimated the weights of the grain and hops.

Add 1.5 oz Centennial and .5 oz Cascade at 0:00.

Add 1 oz Cascade, .5 oz Centennial at 0:30.

Add remaining Cascade at 0:55.

At 0:60, turn off heat, add raspberries and let steep for half-hour.
