825 S. Walnut
Here is the house that my lovely wife, Katherine, and I own. Or vice versa. This was taken sometime early in 1998, before we bought the joint. Some improvements we've made:
Painted every paint-bearing wall in the house (from dark olive in most
cases to off-white)
Painted every ceiling white
Pulled up dark olive carpet from first-floor hardwood
Refinished hardwood floors on first floor
Installed new hot-water heater
Installed new boiler
Sounds like a lot of work, doesn't it? Well in a word, it was. And it was all before we even moved in. Shitloads of money, too. Plus we had to buy furniture, dishes, etc. But it was all worth it. We love our new house. Except we've been having plumbing problems lately. La vie. That's the "joy" of being a homeowner. Huh huh, I said "homeowner."
